by Mount.Liberty on 17-08-11 01:16 AM I've been searching for HOURS for threads on this problem, with everyone getting close but not quite there. I literally JUST bought my first Subaru - A MY02 Liberty wagon. Beforehand; drove it several times, and did a thorough check inside and out, then i bought it and drove it home (congratulations...thankyou |

by Mount.Liberty on 17-08-11 07:59 PM I've been searching around, and found out it's the centre diff. I'm going to go through a few initial steps like drain and replace tranny fluid with high grade stuff. Just really don't want to have to replace the whole diff! Anyone have ideas or know roughly how much a replacement centre diff would cost? brand new/used, part only/fitted?

- TH37OY, Renmazuo27,

) with absolutely no prblems(after 35 mins). i got home and drove it straight to work and there was a clicking coming from the left front wheel (i think) all the way there (sounded like a stick was caught somewhere, so i got out and checked it at a servo but it wasnt). Once i got to work, i drove into the car park and started turning sharper corners at slower speeds and there was an obvious shuddering (noise and shake) and when reversing while turning, it almost feels like something is grabbing left front wheel and stopping it, instead making the wheel almost 'jump' while reversing. I've done as much of a thorough check as I can on CV joints and both on both sides appear sealed and not worn. Steering does NOT make this noise when turning wheels on the spot (not P/S). When i put the car in neutral while driving on the highway it makes the same minor clicking (assuming this takes tranny out of the equation). It seems this problem has risen very suddenly, I havent had a chance to do a thorough check yet but any ideas on where to start?
