Changing foot pedals???

  Top of Page

I just bought some after-market MOMO pedals for my 2001 RX Liberty & im not too sure about putting them on.. The MOMO pedals come with screws but im not sure how to get the factory pedals off. This may sound like a stupid question but im farily new to this so you'll have to humour me.  Can anyone help me?

just cable tie them on...

you just place the over the old ones and use the brackets that u got with the momo's and use the screws and screw them to the pedal via those brackets ...

Gettospec! lol

Ive got sti pedals...

Take the rubbers off the clutch and brake, brackets sit behind the pedal and place the momo pedal over the top, screw the brakets and pedals together. Accelerator have no idea, depending on how big the momo pedal is...

nah man, i've got a momo gear knob, n it suits sweet, dont cut original shifter! get a performance short shifter off ebay, got mine there from ultrex performance, cheap, and improves the feel and look soooo much.

stock pedals off late model wrx's fit straight on.
you know those chrome ones with the black dots on them.
wicked upgrade but still with a stock look
and you can pick them up at wreckers much cheaper than momo ones..

Way to revive a thread! Nang are there specific late model wrx's that have those pedals and will they fit the auto RX's too? hmm

I saw a 08 STi with the same pedals so I'm pretty sure they're generally all the same. I bought mine secondhand from eBay. I would imagine should fit just fine. However, I haven't seen an auto set before...

I guess all that I can really do is have a look at the wreckers and see if I can get ones that will fit I assume?

White MY02 Liberty B4 - Dyno Tuned @ HP-F - APEXi CAI - STi Front Lip - 6000k Xenons - Full 2.5" turbo back exhaust system - 18" GMAX in black.

Double the trouble = B4!!!

The STi pedals - are they simply different pads or complete pedals? Reason I ask is I've had run ins with the law regarding bolt on covers... plus they tend to loosen and slip off right when you don't want them too, hence the issues with Mr Plod I suppose.

Seriously thinking about getting a set if they aren't just replacement pads. Next question - if they are complete pedals, how difficult to change?

Cheers,
Ben

for gen 3 you remove the pad on the brake and cluth but the sti pedals more is like a generic bolt on pad with a lip under the bottom and a bracket on the top which you use to secure it. The sti accelerator pedal goes over the top of the oem pedal and is screwed in place through the hinge on the accelerator pedal assembly. Both types are easy to put on

i've got a gc8 my99 pedal box in my legacy with STI pedals which uses the same mounting type as the gen 3. One actually came off when i was at Wakefield a few months ago. It never happened before and hasn't since but i guess it is a bit of a concern. Make sure you use some lock tight on the hardware when you put them on!

never had any issue in the liberty as it had the bolt in type for auto. when i did the manual conversion i got the pedal box from an my02 sti which came with the newer silver and black pads

Ah, thought that might be the case, thanks for that aek. Looks like I'll be on the hunt for an 02 sti pedal box then. Theres enough on my car thats probably defectable as it is, let alone adding to it.
How easy was it to install the new pedal box? simple undo the links & unbolt mounts then remove and replace or is there more to it than that?

Cheers,
Ben
