Buying WRX, need help!

  Top of Page

Hey guys and girls,

Well my sis is looking to buy a WRX so i'm looking for a few tips as to what to look out for. Are there any tell tale signs of mis-treatment i should know about?
Any assistance would be awesome. By the way she is looking at a my99 or my00.

Cheers

Luke

i would like to think there are still some good examples out there. I'm more interested in finding warning signs of mis-treatment.

Loud clunks in the driveline when backing on & off the throttle, noisy motor, try & buy one that's unmolested.

jump on wrx.com.au/forums/ and do a search, lots of info redarding purchasing a wrx. Also if a car your into is in Vic a slab of beer or two is all that is needed for a member to have a look for you. Btw great choice in car i had a my00 wrx hatch with a few goodies. Worst problem to look out for is the 02 sensor and gearbox. Both however let you know something is wrong before they go bang.
