Broken Speedo

Hey i was driving my 99 libery rx at about 60-80 the other day and my electronic(no cable) speedo completely died on me I've tested the speed sensor and it's working.

i can only think that the problem would be in the speedo clock itself or in the ECU.

Has this happened to anyone? or dose anyone have any ideas on mhat happened?
