by CRUISN on 12-06-08 12:36 PM Started modding the vent today for the boost gauge. Cut a piece of 6mm plastic sheet to fit snugly in the rear of the vent and secured it with 3mm countersunk allen key bolts tapped into the plastic. Hole is cut as per the gauge size. |

by befour on 12-06-08 01:36 PM That looks good dude, will be interesting to see the end product, I am currently trying to work out what to do with my gauges, Brendan what size gauges are yours? I tried to put mine in and they wouldn't fit between the HVAC and the McIntosh HU. |

I thought so, so I went out and got the autogauge smoked face 52mm series Boost gauge and A/F ratio. I can not get them to fit there doesn't seem to be room where that little compartment was below the H/U So I thought out of curiosity I would move the HU down and try fitting them between the HU and HVAC but still no luck, I may have to get a look/Photo at the way you have done this.... I could just very well be intellectually challenged.

are you tring to fit the silver rim into there too? the rim sits outside the DIN... the actual gauge part fits in between.. |

by befour on 15-06-08 11:50 AM Hmmm, **** in all honesty I can not remember, knowing my two left feet approach at times I probably did try and fit the silver ring in between them. I might have to give it another go, I still need to get something to hold the gauges in there, Did you make something up your self to do it? or buy? |

when you put three in there they leave gaps between the gauges at the top and bottom.. I went to an auto-trimmer and got fill-in's done for the gaps made of sponge and vinyl.. |

by befour on 15-06-08 01:37 PM ahhh... ok..... and did you use that U shaped bracket (with a flat bottom) that comes with each of the gauges to hold them in place? I might have to find someone to make some of these fill-ins up, sounds good |

Josh no need for the bracket, as the fit is really tight in the DIN slot.. so pressure was needed to push them in, once they were in, they stayed in place.. |
