Bmw M1 Scoop!

  Top of Page

Hi,

That's right, I will send you all my account details, coz this is SCOOP type shizznit.

ZE Shark sent two journalists at the Villa d'Este Concorso d'Eleganza near Lake Como and look at what they stumbled upon: the new BMW M1 Concept. We suspect that the body hides the M5/M6 5L V10 and is BMW's counter-strike to Audi's R8 and Mercedes SLC.

Discuss.

Nik

Love it!  That thing might be worthy of the old 'left leg' payment,  well right leg so I could still drive it.

I love the front end, it looks so angry, especially in the second pic.  The wheels look sweeeet!

Looks like they jammed a BMW grille on to a Lambo.

Having said that, yes please :clapping::clapping: Apart from the wheels that is porn.

Looks hot and with the 'M' engine in it it would go like all hell!

Not 100% down on that colour though...

the front looks somewhat like a cross between an alfa 159 and a 'stang imo
and personally i like it

theyve based it largely on the american concept of revamping old designs with an ultra modern flair (camaro, mustang, charger) and done so quite successfully

..except for the wheels. epic fail.

Is this an actual BMW concept car?

I'm a long long time BMW fan (long live the E30 & E36!!), I've been hating the latest creations to have come from the little motor shop in Bavaria. I've personally been wanting to assassinate, cremate, and detonate Chris Bangle for a long, long time.

Personally I think this car is stunning. The colour is not only historically significant (as evident with the M1 and Turbo Concept) its absolutely gorgeous.

I like the tyres too (Toyo T1R's big_smile)

I just don't like the dual Badges on the rear.

Yes it's official BM doubleV stuffs

In honor of the car's thirtieth birthday, BMW rolled out the new BMW M1 Hommage, a concept/design study that pays tribute to the original M1 and shows what could be possible if BMW were to produce a new mid-engined sports car.
In honor of the car's thirtieth birthday, BMW rolled out the new BMW M1 Hommage, a concept/design study that pays tribute to the original M1 and shows what could be possible if BMW were to produce a new mid-engined sports car.
The greatest departure is seen in front, where BMW has given the M1 Hommage a sinister, imposing face. Naturally, BMW's prominent double-kidney grille is front and center. Its joined by outboard intakes and a trapezoidal lower opening designed to swallow and direct air for both cooling purposes and aerodynamic effect. The car's four round headlights lurk behind thin slits in the front fascia, remaining essentially invisible until they're illuminated -- a tip of the cap to the hideaway nature of the classic M1's flip-up lamps.
There appears to be no interior, and BMW doesn't even bother mentioning specific powertrain possibilities. The M1 Hommage is strictly a design exercise meant to celebrate an icon, but it also reminds us that Munich can do the supercar thing, too. Maybe one day it will again.

I'll have one of the originals, thanks.

The rear of the concept is even worse than the front. Chris Bangle has a lot to answer for.

It has an interesting look. If they worked on the front end a bit it might be ok, But def no R8 or supercar status like that
