black side stripe removal

hey fellas (and hello ladies)

i am wondering what is below the black stripes down the side of a genII?

if i rip them off will there be big holes underneath, or sticky stuff?

And would they be able to be put back on to bring the car back to standard?

you need to take the inner door panel off to get the strips off, they have clips holding them on and there will be big holes left..

if you want to improve the look take the car to a spray painter and get him to paint the strips to match (and do the mirrors while your at it)

Yup what he said ^^

Had the ones on my Gen 3 colour-coded by a panelbeater and got them to reapply the strips with a strong adhesive as the clips holding them on were brittle and basically crumbled...such a small detail but works a treat

i got mine painted with mirror for 200 bucks, never looked back.

Set me back bout $100 - got a panelbeater mate of mine to do it for me, did an awesome job!. Best thing to do would be to ask around diff panelbeaters for prices
