Best car driven

  Top of Page

Ok we've seen all of the great car threads Nik's put up and there are a few lucky people who have worked in an industry(Marv maybe) that allow such good luck as to drive some great cars.
But, what is the greatest car you've ever driven.
A guy on rexnet from Brisbane has just been to Europe and had some great fun.

I was so jealous I almost spewed.

Not exactly what you were looking for but......

When the VX SS was new i got one from work, 6 speed, 5.7 etc. Flogged the crap out of it and then promptly crashed it (not bad)

It was a work car so the insurance excess for me was $100. I could of written it off and it still would of been $100.

Thats why it was one of the best ive driven cos it went well, tail out driving is a hoot and you didnt care if you staked it. big_smile

There are definite high points to being an under-paid, over-worked motoring journo.

Hi,

928S with a fair bit of work put into her. Was absolute tits.

I'm only young though. I'll own one of those supercars you see me posting long before I die.

Cheers,
Nik

What would have been the creme de la creme?
Did it have airbrushing?

Now I'm boasting, but since you asked (quite a tricky question). There were many, many highlights. From an engineering point of view, I'd offer the following ties for first: Gemballa GTR 750, Mine's R34 and a well set-up NA E46 M3 CSL. Press cars would have to have 996 Turbo, E39 M5 (), 996 GT3 RS, Lotus Exige.

The 1200hp R32 GT-R was a giggle, but a bit same old/same old (there are too many 1000hp turbo Jap sixes running around the East Coast and wheelspin @ 150km/h gets boring). I think my overall favourite car was the Excel Sprint I drove down Brighton wif 29" spinnaz 'n' 4 canunz out da bak. 30" subz get da chix.

Impressive Marv, very impressive. If I were you I'd be gloating all the time. Your humility is refreshing.

Some of the fringe benefits to spending five years scribbling about other peoples' hard work and passionate outpouring.
