back from the dead *bought a my05*

  Top of Page

Gday all, dunno who is still active on here, but i couldnt remember my old password and had to make a new account.

well since i sold tuflib, i bought a wrx, got sick of that, bought a VT Commodore, which caught fire and now have a vn calais with a mild v8 which i am just over. i want something reliable and something with a bit of luxury.

so i am in the market for a gen4 sedan at the moment. Found a few which im going to look at, sunroof is a must, leather is an added bonus. also havent decided whether i want to go auto or manual but im leading towards manual.

whats some things i should look for when i inspect these?

anyway hopefully i can come back to the community!!

John

Funny how a lot of the guys that sold Libertys a few years ago now seem to be returning tongue It's a shame you got rid of the old one in the first place.

Haha fair enough. There's been a few moments in heavy traffic where I've wished I bought an auto... Do love the hill holder too big_smile

i do a fair bit of driving in traffic now, so i really couldnt be bothered. plus one of the ones i drove, if i took off a bit hard, say revving to 3000rpm, it would make a high pitched grinding noise, and the clutch pedal would vibrate. that turned me off that car, plus it missed the last 3 services, 70k, 80k and 100k

cant bloody wait till saturday now!!

got the car on saturday. absolutely love it! they are so comfortable and nice to drive. i love the sports auto, i didnt know it would hold the gear even if its on the limiter, does what my calais does and i had to put a shift kit in that.

getting twin tips on both sides this weekend. trying to find a factory sub, just for a little extra kick.

not sure. they are rubber strips, i have never had to paint straight on rubber so i wouldnt know what to do.

i was gonna get rid of them, but id rather lousy drivers hitting them than the car

Pull those rubber strips off ASAP John!

They look nasty against the white paint. My mate bought an XT Foz and it had those on it. He was straight over to my place and we removed them immediately. wink

Theyre just double sided tape. Use a hair dryer to heat them up alittle first and then peel off. You may be left with some tape on the car, just heat this up and rub it off with your finger, then polish. Wont leave any marks.
