Its is not bad on LPG

You have to press the pedal a bit further and a bit of responsiveness is lost when setting off sometimes

I am having a tuning place look at it as the pressure may need upping or larger injectors may need to go in

Either way my fuel bill has been  halved and overall it has been worth it

It switches back automatically if the LPG cant handle it which isn't that often mainly on high load on the second turbo when you are booting it

It likes crusing best on teh motorway at 90-100mph on gas smile

welcome mate.

I would never have thought to put a B4 on LPG. I had a magna company car that was on lpg with a switch. But it was seriously ghey on lpg. Loss of about 30-40 power and ran like a piece of crapola.

The LPG system it is running is a Romano Sequential System

It starts on petrol then switches once the vapouriser is warm enough

For general day to day motorway and town driving it is very good you still have more than enough power to enjoy yourself

I had it dyno'd when it was only running 0.5bar of boost due to a leak that took ages to find and it ran near enough to 200bhp on gas and petrol

I have spoken to a guy near me who is going to see about mapping the LPG further and just check out my petrol systems as I have a few little problems.

They have a Evo MR running about 340bhp on LPG no problems

Neither of the cars have been remapped, I was thinking of doing it but funds were needed elsewhere.

I will get some pics of the install later

Would this setup affect your warranty if any?

Can't wait to see the pix, shows us were the bottle is located, I assume in the trunk right

Re: B4 owner from the UK

I would imagine it would invalidate the warranty from new or from any dealer fitting LPG

I have a circular tank in the "comedy wheel" well which holds 40 litres and is good for about 140miles on the motorway

I need to have it looked at as it may be getting too much gas and not enough pressure as it is switching back under high load

The guy said it is  a simple fix

It is still fast enough though

I'll post some pics later

Welcome dude,
It's nice to have some more OS members.  Keep in the loop as to how the LPG system comes along.  I might be interested in it at some point later if the government is going to give us free LPG conversions.

Cheers

Ive heard that you can get some very serious horsepower or even more than using petrol by tuning an LPG setup properly, there was a guy around my area that had a VK commo running 450hp at the treads and it was on LPG!! he said he had it tuned for performance rather that fuel economy, ??
