Have to agree we didnt play well and very lucky to escape with any points (1-1).

The soccer management has to do something about all the fake diving and injuries though, the Omanies would fall over 5 sec after been tackled and roll around until a stretcher would come and carry them off and then run straight back on. This happened about 5-6 times in the game if not more and ruined the game.

Lucky Iraq and the other team drew 1-1 then.  Keeps every1 square in Group A

I wish people here in the States were excited about Soccer.  Having grown up in Canada, I've alwas been a big fan, but here it's always 3 games only: Football, Baseball, and Basketball.  No one ever talks about any other sport.  I used to play indoor soccer for a long time as the goalie, and every time I tell someone that here, they tell me soccer is for wimps.  I always say, "Have you ever seen a real soccer game?  These guys kick the crap out of each other for 90 minutes while running back and forth across a huge field with nothing but some shin guards!  Ever watch a basketball game?  Every time someone breathes wrong the ref blows his whistle and the guy gets to shoot a free throw.  And watching baseball, my god, you just want to :suicide:

and to bigD GT, as far as soccer players being called soft i know how that feels as ive played soccer since i was 6 and only stopped last year.. however i cant agree with the your other comments as i play rep basketball and love it, best sport ever..

Basketball and baseball are just boring to watch, that's all I meant.  That and the americans pretty much hose every other sport.  Here it is Baseball, Basketball, Football,........and NASCAR.  Also boring as hell to watch.  left turn.....left again......and again......250 laps later and still goin strong on that left......

What legacy-rsk said, its better if you actually played the sport cos then you understand it better. For example, the media craps on about Shane Warne and why he's so good. The average joe who doesn't not know anything abt cricket does not understand how well he can control the ball. In soccer it looks slow on tv but watch the world cup and see why ronaldinho is a freak or why gary ablett is known to the non-afl fan.

Some sports are good to play but boring to watch thats why sport coverage isn't just about sport these days.
