Another DIY Vote needed

Hi all, as with the HID's, im getting a vote for my next project, so I know its worth the effort,

In 2 saturdays time, im doing the timing belt on the libby at home, with my mechanic mate..

would anyone benefit from a DIY on this?

Included with this will be ALT/AC/PS belts too...

Yeah that would be awesome. Coming up for 200000 so would be looking at doing it soon aswell. Goodluck with it.

i did the tbelt on my gen1 but it was the 2.2l single cam motor the twins are a lot harder to do not to mention trying to get the crank pulley bolt undone

I bought one of these Yank books for my 94 Impreza. Was very handy.
Not this one here obviously but u get the idea.

Im still sourcing all the parts, so should be soon, and waterpump will be done too, (waterpump is the easy bit, no matter on which car..)

Kosti you can come watch, just dont get too excited and want to join in, 2 is a couple, 3 is an orgy.. HAHAHA,

And to remove the crank bolt is easy as too!, all you need is a breaker bar with a socket on the end, place the breaker bar so its sitting on the bolt and the other end is on the ground (concrete) and crank the engine, Walla! bolt off!:victory:

while your changing the belt why dont you advance/retard the timing a bit to get more power...

Dont wanna play with the timing as it is all computer controlled, moving it forward a tooth could cause some big problems, its not a 308 carby we are talking about here smile

the best way normally to advance and retard timing is by the Dizzy on a car.. which is what the LIB doesnt have either! hehe,

so timing will stay as it is, until i get someone to fiddle with the computer, or Kosti lets me use his laptop and cable for an hour to set the values to what I think they should be on,

Im also expecting a call tomorrow from Crow Cams about custom spec cams for the lib, they are finding out what lift i can go to and the price,

my plan is to get more bottom end to midrange power and sacrifice the top end, as it is all reliant on turbo spool anyway, I got a contact there which helped me custom grind my cams on the commo (except the commo used to make power from 4800-8000...as there is no rev limmiter on a carby dinosaur)
