Tomorrow I am doing the safe driver course that AAMI provides in Brisbane. Has anyone else done it? Is there skid pan action :new_russi ?

No skid pan action... was fun though and educational. Did lots of evasive driving, so swerving and braking at high speeds. The car took it all in its stride. Didn't spin out all day. Got a buttload of understeer a few times though.

Did the course today, it was alright, I wouldn't pay to do it though (I got it free with my insurance & save 10% a year if I did it)

In the morning you pretty much do the same stuff you did to get your learners, theory - Following distances, concentration, drink/drug driving etc etc. In the arvo you get to go out and do a few different scenarios - Hairpin, emergency lane changing, braking, slalom.

Must say the lib handled it all excellently, was the only person who didnt hit a cone on the hairpin at 45/50km/h, also had the lowest emegency braking distance - 12m from 45km/h, next best was 15m...

It also reinforced my belief that young female drivers are crap...hehe

I'm doing something similar in November out at willowbank. Its being done as a birthday thing so no choice. But I'm kinda looking forward to getting the GT out and doing some stuff I probably wouldn't do on the streets.
