It only cost me the $50 for the dyno day which netted me a winning raffle ticket. on the receipt it is $990.00. I just had to pay for installation and tuning which was $500. |

by twinturbosubaru on 10-12-07 09:13 PM So am I correct in reading that you had about 190kw atw before the ECU change, and 203kw atw after the change ?

by Soop on 10-12-07 09:18 PM You might find the peak power is earlyer/smoother. Or it just hits harder.

by twinturbosubaru on 10-12-07 09:26 PM Very true, but the dyno graph doesn't really show a lot in those areas, you can always see more power earlier in the chart, but it seems that his graphs are a bit smoother which is good, but not a great deal else. It would also be interesting to see A/F ratio, I reckon all dyno charts should show that as it is soooo important, especially on Subies as they run so rich from the factory.

by twinturbosubaru on 11-12-07 06:13 AM Good thanks, the old girl never missed a beat, power delivery is great now, very smooth, but the biggest plus I reckon is the change in handling with the STi front end, awesome !

Hahahaha mate. I know your not having a go. I know what you mean. Here's the revised graph
Yeah Daz. Ready to go on but dyno broke. So it could get done till they got some parts from Bris. Maybe the green beast was too powerful for it  |

by 988OXR on 12-12-07 05:08 PM Yeah billsy, the guys there were quite impressed at how it was all put together. Everything worked well inregards to components fitted. At the dyno day when it ran the 187, was told while i was sitting in the passenger seat not to touch it as it was one of the smoothest lines they'd seen coming from a factory ecu. So then I ended up winning the raffle hahahahaha. |

HAHAHAHA. They seem to run 5spds in 3rd gear and 6spds in 4th gear when they do these runs.:new_russi EDIT: When they (ChipTorque) do them. Thats what was happening at the dyno day and thats how Daz's (SUB4RU) car was done too. |

but fourth gear is 1:1. third gear naturally gives you a higher reading. i dont see why you wouldnt run it in fourth???? |

by 988OXR on 12-12-07 06:12 PM Ah ok. Does it matter what diffs or gearboxes are used???:Dntknw: Would it come up with a different reading with a 3.9 diff compared to a 4.44? I wasn't there when they did it. Was too busy organising the quarry:lol::mda: |

Re: 988OXR's Latest Dyno Run |

by JZK25 on 12-12-07 07:21 PM 4th gear is only 1:1 in a conventional rwd gearbox. Jarrod's gearbox is actually overdriven in 4th gear. There are many variables in modern front drive based geartrains. The reason for using a particular gear is to be able to run the engine to redline without overspeeding the dyno or the cars ecu if it is limited. |
