98 liberty - Paint and Trolley Dints

  Top of Page

Hey Guys,

Owned my liberty about 2 weeks now, ive noticed there is like a layer of grime over the bonnet and boot that wont come off after a car wash, would you recommend a cut and polish at the paint shop or would a hand buff & polish myself do the job ?

Also, how do paint shops charge for removing trolley dints, is it a certain amount for a few or something, ive got a few up the sides of the car

Cheers again

If you get a paintless dent removal mob to do the doors they generally charge per panel I believe.

i remember seeing prices for paintless dent removal and it was quite expensive. they may all be different but the one i saw charged around $60 per dint, but would do a package deal to do several dints for a cheaper price.
On that note i recently tried the "dry ice dent removal method" on youtube and although it didnt get rid of any of my dents it made some of them much less noticable.

clay bar the paint yourself. Use no pressure and shiteloads of soapy car wash as lube. There will be a multitude of black crap come off. Then just a light cut and polish by hand. 3 hours work or so. Made my gen3 look like new the other week. Cost me all of 50 bucks for a claybar, and a few beers in the fridge for a mate to stand and talk shit with me.

I second the Meguiars Claybar for cleaning up the contaminants stuck to paint that washing wont remove. I do this to every car I buy. AWESOME stuff!

My previous white Gen2 wagon was the worst ive seen. Took me about 10 hours all up to get it spotless, but well worth it for the result.

As for paintless dent removal, theres plenty of guys out there that do it, just have to locate a close one. They normally charge per panel. Costs vary. I recommend them higly!
