I doubt subaru would do another face-lift to the gen4. This shape has been around for 5 years and deffinatly in need for a big change. If you look at the liberty history each generation/model was produced for 5 years. and there was one face lift for each generation.

Gen1- 89-93
Gen2- 94-98
Gen3- 99-03
Gen4- 04-present

NOTE: some models started/finished a few months either side of the dates

It's still using the same base, so I seriously doubt that is the next generation.

I'm seriously considering it to be a face lift.

Compare the base of the last four generations? They've all changed, however none of them have had a seriously dramatic face lift, so maybe you are right?

It is quite a confusing car isn't it. But I think its a 5th gen after looking back at the past generations in detail. if you look at the 1st gen and the old subaru 4x4's, the lib was pretty much just a revised 4x4. then the 2nd gen came and gave a completely new look to the liberty. this continued thru to the 3rd gen, with interior changes, changes to the front end and rear end of the car but, they still pulled off a similar look. then the 4th gen came and wiped the old libertys once again off the slate, with its low, sleek body and extreme changes to styling. so whats not to say that the 5th gen isnt the same to the 4th gen as the 3rd gen was to the 2nd and as the 1st gen to the 4x4?

3. Wheels look like they are Mazda.
4. Headlights are from previous generation Mazda 6.
5. This grill is out of date and no longer being used by Subaru.
