Not bad , but those wheels are hideous, put some nice bleck with chrome lip or gunmetal gray 5 spokes, car would look noice!

...wouldn't that then defeat the purpose of building an 'up-to-date' replica of Brocky's old car?

So is a S1 gen3.

I think the wheels need some work. Recreation or not, they look off. They can keep the general gist of them, just needs something else.

Also the scoop looks way to small, as does the rear wing. I also think both need to have more curvature. The car obviously isn't as square as the original.

I agree, they've put a square body kit on a round curvy car, just looks a little odd...I don't HATE it, but I dont think i'd buy one even if it has poor Brocky's name all over it...

Scoop? It's not a scoop, it's a bonnet bulge, and it's huge, you just can't see it from this angle, plus the spoiler is supposed to replicate the old school HSV spoilers, really square and more of a lip then a spoiler. I think it's ok, I doubt it's going into production though, more of a little side project to increase interest in Holden, just like the Torana they unveiled a few years ago.

Nick

And it's Group A not Group C if you're talking about the Walkinshaw.

Ahh.. dude it is in production.. you have to buy a VE SS commo, then take it to HDT in Revesby (sydney) to get it modified to brock standards... packages start off at 15k...

you gotta remember.. since 1987 HDT and Holden aren't friends.. Brock broke off the marriage with the suprise introduction of the VL Director that holden knew nothing about smile and holden were pi55ed at brock about the energy polarizer too.. they claimed it did nothing, and brock was adamant that it did something

Well originaly they were a scoop, a rear ward facing scoop. It pulled cold dense air in from in front of the wind screen.

Who really care's what the original was like?
The whole car was square. The VE is not. Use the same basic shape of course, I feel the wing that is on the VE is too square for the shape of the vehicle.

Thirdly, i was referring to the VK commodore, which ran in the Group C, and the early group A. The Group C VK was painted Dayglo orange and white. Big arse flares and all that get up.
This is what i'd like to see reproduced also.

The Torana was a concept car, they make lots of concept cars (See latest "Coupe 60")

Brendan, I don't think HDT and Holden  are estranged any longer. As they work closely with the HDT race team (HRT and HDT Toll, are both owned by Tom Walkinshaws parent company i think).

Yeah na.. The moment HDT touches anything mechanical or structural.. your warranty is void on the spot wink   so in saying that, HDT + Holden = Arguments

Oh really?

I always thought HDT = HSV?

As in, HSV being the parent company now days, and HDT being a name sake.

Oh so it's a Corsa style set-up, no affiliation to Holden. Nice, yeah I thought this was just another concept car, but I like it, go the retro style. They had to do something to compete with all the FPV love children, and the remake of the GT cos the Monaro was p**s poor.

Would not HSV's 300kw 7ltr V8 be the competition for the FPV Cobra and so on?

Monaro was a good car IMO, CV8Z's are tops. And they resemble the HK's quiet well.

Re: 2008 Brock! More Pics

Yeah but you have to look at market-ability. You're one of those guys that laughs at some one because they bought looks over power, good on you, but alot of people buy looks over power, what's the average car buyer know about mechanics. FPV had a line up of good looking cars with names like Cobra, Typhoon, etc. And they sold better than the Monaro and CV8Z, that's fact. Although Ford, FPV, Holden and HSV sales have been sliding for a long time due to the Asian four-cylinders and the Europeans.

I don't laugh at people who choose looks over power.

Hell i chose my POS Subaru GX over a VS commodore because i thought it looked better.

And from everything I've heard, and read. Holden has sold more units than ford. Since for ever.
