Thanks all. I will try to see if I can figure out how to upload the ECU after I get my sensor problem cleared up. I hope to take some new pics this weekend, but the car needs a good cleaning. okiblitzen |

Nope, I'm an American here on Okinawa. I hope to visit Australia on vacation one of these years since I'm already over in this hemisphere. It's one place in the world that I have always wanted to see (there and NZ). I can read a little Japanese, but not enough to participate in any meaningful discussion on a car web site. This site has a lot more pertinent information on the TT B4's than American car sites, since the US never got the TT model. The same was true when I had my R33 Skyline GTS25t. There was a lot of good info on Skylines Down Under, and little info on the American car sites (since it was a bitch to import them). I'm not sure why the Japanese car makers often don't bring some of their best models to the US. I guess it is probably an emissions thing or other governmental red tape. |

Yeah, the white is growing on me. I originally wanted te Blitzen red, but with the scortching summers here, the white is probably a better choice. I was actually considering a wagon. I just liked the look of the B4 a tiny bit more, wanted to save a little bit of weight, and the B4 Blitzen came with the nice Sony head unit stock, whereas it was only an option for the wagon Blitzen, at least for 2001. The wagon that I realy wanted was the Nissan Stagea Autech with the RB26 and a R34 front end conversion. Unfortunately, those were out of my price range. The Legacy B4 and wagons are really discounted at most Japanese car dealers and auctions as compared to the Nissans. |

Trust me, we have a similar problem here in Australia, where we often get only the most sedate stuff to come out of Japan.. Although I do think we've got it a little better than the states in that we've had the likes of the WRX's and Skylines here for a lot longer than you guys have.. |

by cracka on 16-03-07 10:51 PM maybe we all have crap fuel compared to the japs. wot sort of R.O.N do they run in the states ? i have heard conflicting conversations on this topic. maybe the japs are a patriotic bunch and don't take much pride seeing us get around in there hottest rides. |

I haven't lived in the states in quite a while, but the last time I was there for an extended time gas ranged from 87 PON ("Regular") to 93 PON ("Premium") at most gas stations, which I think equates to roughly 91 RON to 97 RON. I have never seen fuel rated in RON in the U.S. PON is (RON+MON)/2 This can vary quite a bit from location to location as each geographical area, state, season, etc. have their own gas formulation requirements. I have no clue what is what anymore with all of the Ethanol and other blends that are out nowadays. I have a feeling there must be more to the whole situation than patriotism or pride. If there is a good business case to sell the cars, then I think even the most patriotic companies would follow the money. There must be something more to it. |

Thanks! Yes, the interior is in excellent condition. One minor sratch on the fake brushed aluminum shifter plate, and a couple of very tiny holes poked in the leather of rear passenger side door. Other than that, it's just about perfect. The leather seems to hold up really nice in these cars. |

At least you are (or were) able to import a good number of cars from Japan, or via NZ, from my understanding (which is limited). In the U.S., most of the time you can't even do that. Between the emissions and the crash testing, getting imports legalized is a complete hassle if not economically infeasible. |

Na, I'm one for the sedan too. Less practical but looks sportier IMHO! |

For the Gen-III cars (BE5/BH5), I think the sedan looks better. If I was to get a Gen-IV car (BL5/BP5), I think I'd pick the wagon. Specifically, I really like the way the "tuned by STI" edition BP5 looks. |
