19 by 8.5s might be pushing the limits a bit far, im pretty sure obsesd on here
has 20s on his gen 3 , it might
be possible more than likely u will have to roll your gaurds
and it depends on what offset u buy the rims with i no that
subarus offset is 55 and its very hard to find aftermarket
wheels in that offset , my wheels are only 18x7.5s with and
offset of 45 and i have to roll my gaurds to lower it other wise
maior issue with scrubbing anyway hope that helps

Sheppo's on the money.

Unless you wanted to cut and widen your guards (which could potentially look awesome) 8.5" width is not going to fit on a Gen III.

19x7.5 Gestalts...fit fine with rolled guards. 

18x8s scrubbed like crazy with sh1t offset.

8.5s as said b4....not gona fit well at all.

On my Gen III, The 19x8.5 did fit.. but decided to go 19x8 for legal reasons... no scrubbing with either wheel

is size and weight an issue when putting big wheels on subarus?

i come from the honda world where anything over 17" is too big thus too heavy and effects handeling and power too much

i was just wandering if there are negative effects to getting 18" and 19" wheels on subarus?
