by theprotest on 05-02-08 09:08 PM This happened a good week or so ago. Posted it on a few other forums. It is eerie to read posts he made a day before the incident about high speed runway tests. |

by theprotest on 05-02-08 09:48 PM So it was probably pushing out some serious power with the tune and exhaust then? |

Definitely agree , you dont give the keys of a car like that to a person who has only been driving for 2 years. |

by d_generate on 06-02-08 10:48 AM Something similar happened to a young guy in Perth about 15yrs ago, Rich daddy buys his son a brand new turbo RX7 for his 17th birthday & he was dead by midnight, he was having a drag up Fitzgerald St with a GT Falcon & lost control going straight through the Shell servo at Walcott St, there are lessons to be learned. |

by scrim on 06-02-08 12:16 PM From what i've read I think it was his fathers car, and we don't really know if his father handed him the keys or if the kid just took them out one night, so you can't really jump to the conclusion that its the parents fault. |

Just because there's restrictions, doesn't mean they won't do it. There's nothing the government/police can do to stop drunken peer pressure unfortunately... |

by motomojo on 06-02-08 02:06 PM 100klm/h 200kl/m is still fast enough to kill drunk or not, i guess its all about education, and the individual in question. in this case a dick in a fast car with little sense, (which is typical analogy of 18/19/20yo not just in cars all vehicles hence why they changed the bike age in vic to 18yo. much better than the 17yo before and the 16 and 9months before. |

by MY02B4 on 06-02-08 02:15 PM Well now in Vic, 1st year p-platers cant carry more than 1 passenger. They can biatch all they want but there will be less peer pressure and those who would usually get a lift can drive their own cars and get more experience. |
