18y/o kid with 500hp M5...

...stacks it into a tree.

This is pretty crazy considering some of the stuff he was talking about. Hope this sort of this hasn't happened to any OzLib members...

This happened a good week or so ago. Posted it on a few other forums. It is eerie to read posts he made a day before the incident about high speed runway tests.

He actually did go out of his way to do this on a non public venue - sadly that credit was null and void by having four other people in his fathers 500Hp BMW.

RIP.

How does an 18yo get into a 400hp M5?

Waste of a perfectly beautiful car.

It was tuned, and I believe had a couple of other go-fast bits.

The father bought the alcohol, and somehow in the same night, the son got the keys.

I feel more sorry for the other kids in the car with him...

...i mean really, wtf did the parents think was going to happen? The parents should have given him their crack pipe instead of the M5, probably would have been safer.

To be completely fair we have no idea what he did to get hold of the keys on that particular night.

I agree with XX,
I for one would never have been game to go for my old mans keys.
He would have killed me, quicker than any car.

That link should be made a sticky, for all n00bs wanting to make their GX's go faster with pod filters and exhausts.

So it was probably pushing out some serious power with the tune and exhaust then?

GTRydaz is down right now, but this has all been covered.

A lot of his posts/threads were deleted and closed at request.

Definitely agree , you dont give the keys of a car like that to a person who has only been driving for 2 years.

Something similar happened to a young guy in Perth about 15yrs ago, Rich daddy buys his son a brand new turbo RX7 for his 17th birthday & he was dead by midnight, he was having a drag up Fitzgerald St with a GT Falcon & lost control going straight through the Shell servo at Walcott St, there are lessons to be learned.

Man thats sad. I've got an 16 year old lad and there is no way he will be driving anything more powerful than a corolla.
And I tell all the kids never to get in a car with crazy young drivers or those drinking.
Very sad.

He did say it was his car didnt he? If so why doesnt America have restrictions to stop young and inexperience drivers??

He shouldnt of been drinking and he shouldnt of been driving such a powerful car.

I too feel sorry for the kids and the parents of the kids who were the passengers.

As XXB4XX said whats done is done.

From what i've read I think it was his fathers car, and we don't really know if his father handed him the keys or if the kid just took them out one night, so you can't really jump to the conclusion that its the parents fault.

Still, very tragic and eery reading the thread.

Thats sad and scary stuff....

But on the other hand all the kids in the car most probably got in willingly....its just a positive that they didnt do it somewhere where they could have killed innocent people as well....still very sad though of course....

Just because there's restrictions, doesn't mean they won't do it.

There's nothing the government/police can do to stop drunken peer pressure unfortunately...

100klm/h 200kl/m is still fast enough to kill drunk or not, i guess its all about education, and the individual in question. in this case a dick in a fast car with little sense, (which is typical analogy of 18/19/20yo not just in cars all vehicles hence why they changed the bike age in vic to 18yo. much better than the 17yo before and the 16 and 9months before.

Well now in Vic, 1st year p-platers cant carry more than 1 passenger. They can biatch all they want but there will be less peer pressure and those who would usually get a lift can drive their own cars and get more experience.
